RDC’s EmployR&D program is designed to enable businesses to hire recent doctoral graduates to support their R&D activities.
By reducing the cost for companies to hire the technical expertise they need, this program promotes the development of industrial R&D capacity in the province. Specifically, an EmployR&D project allows companies to secure the technical resources they need to drive their product, process or service innovation and market competitiveness. It also allows companies to consider a post-doctoral researcher for potential long-term employment with reduced risk.
The program goals are to enhance company capabilities and technical expertise as a key driver for new technology development; attract high caliber technical resources into companies to improve R&D capacity; and encourage recent Ph.D. graduates to seek careers in the Newfoundland and Labrador private sector.
